What to say?

In the news and blog world there is everything to written about – especially politics and such. So it goes in the religious/SBC world. I really don't like commenting on politics at all. I really don't think it does any good (I do have my own opinions on politics and candidates and church leaders involved in politics, but I would rather keep them to myself or in closed company – like conversations my wife). The church, SBC, associations, etc... will always have some form of "politics" but I do not want to delve into that foray in a place (this blog) where I would rather talk about more dutiful things like discipling others and the treasure of God's word.

There is a war of words in the world today. What to say? I am certainly no master of speech and I am certainly no better than anyone in our stance before a Holy God. I am just saddened and left wondering sometimes at the comments and rhetoric of those in the world today.

May my words be productive, simple, fair, and God honoring! It makes me think of Bunyan and his desire to describe the inexpressible, desire the incomparable, and obtain the unsurpassable.

(Luke 6:45 NIV) The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Peace, Brian
