Sometimes I wonder...

I ask myself do my kids really understand what the Gospel means?

My youngest who is six, can say things back to us just like we teach her. Every so often she says something "from the heart" and it helps us to know she is starting to understand who Jesus is. However, about a week ago my oldest daughter (who is almost 12 and accepted Christ about a year ago) came in to the Kitchen one evening to help with some cleanup.

While working she started singing an old familiar tune - to me at least - Amazing Grace! Now, remember I said she is 12. We generally listen to more upbeat Christian music like TobyMac, SuperChick, David Crowder and even some HipHop. When we are having devotion or Church at home we will play something like Hillsong. I know she has heard the song before but I asked her - Why are you singing that song?

Her response: I don't know I just like it. Yep - typical response from a 12 year old...maybe.

I hope the words really do mean something to her. I hope that now as she sings Amazing Grace she understands and is reminded how amazing GRACE really is...
